4.4 Safe & Healthy Workplace

We adhere to occupational health and safety laws, conduct regular risk assessments, and integrate safety clauses into supplier contracts.

4.5 Protection of Vulnerable Groups

We prohibit child labour, forced labour, modern slavery, and human trafficking. We ensure:

Age verification for all hires.

Supplier contracts that forbid recruitment fees, document retention, or restrictions on freedom of movement.

4.6 Environmental & Land Rights

While our core operations are not environmentally intensive, we prohibit unlawful eviction, appropriation of land, forests, or water, and require suppliers to avoid harmful environmental practices.

4.7 Diversity & Inclusion (insert after the last sentence):

In addition to this Human Rights Policy, UMIUS Creative Inc. maintains a dedicated Indigenous Relations Policy, which outlines our commitments and actions in support of Indigenous communities in Canada. This ensures alignment with our broader human rights commitments and supports reconciliation in line with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP).

4.8 Security Practices

Any security personnel engaged by suppliers must be trained in human rights compliance and applicable laws.


5. Supply Chain Standards

All supplier contracts include human and labour rights clauses.

Tier-1 suppliers are identified; further mapping will expand over time.

Supplier onboarding includes human rights risk consideration.


6. Risk Analysis & Monitoring

Annual human rights risk analysis covering direct and indirect impacts.

Prioritization of risks based on severity, irreversibility, number of people affected, and legal implications.

Measures applied in our own operations, direct supply chain, and product/service delivery.

Effectiveness checks conducted annually.


7. Grievance Mechanism

8. Remediation

In cases of actual human rights violations:

Investigations are conducted promptly.

Corrective actions and preventive measures are implemented.

Documentation is retained for at least 7 years.


9. Training & Awareness

All employees receive annual human rights training.

Policy and grievance mechanism details are provided via the company website and training sessions.


10. Reporting & Transparency

Annual public summary of human rights due diligence will be posted on our website starting in the next reporting cycle.

Future reports will include risk analysis procedure, identified human rights aspects, actual effects, and responsibilities.


11. Governance

6.  Climate & Environmental Targets

UMIUS Creative Inc. has established the following measurable targets to reduce our environmental footprint and support sustainability:

Paperless Operations – Maintain at least 90% digital-first operations to minimize paper consumption.

Energy Efficiency – Reduce office energy consumption by 10% within 3 years by using energy-efficient equipment and remote work practices.

Travel Reduction – Conduct at least 70% of client meetings virtually to reduce travel-related emissions.

Waste & Recycling – Ensure 100% of electronic waste (e-waste) is responsibly recycled or disposed of through certified providers.
